Daffodil Apocolypse

I love Michigan and all - its a beautiful state. But sometimes its just really depressing. This morning I woke up to a mid-April snow fall of 3 inches which has effectively put the big hurt on my early spring blossoms.  Winter has lingered on and on this year which is nothing new and I guess I should be thankful for no really terrible storms, but come on now - enough is enough.  It was depressing driving around running errands today. Everyone had this haunted look in their eyes and things just seemed to take longer than normal to get done. I was low on gas, but I saw that it wsa over $4 a gallon so I drove on by - I didn't have the heart to deal with fossil fuels today. I drive a Honda and only rarely so a tank lasts a while. But today wasn't the day for refueling.
It was one of Those Days where I felt like hunkering down on the couch and staring at a movie. But I wound up trotting all over town getting stuff done because I know it'll be 7 days of work before I get another day off like this to get the shit of life done.  I did manage to goof off a little on LJ and managed nine holes of golf on the Wii, though.
The kid'll be home soon and I'm cooking a surprise for her - General Tso's chicken, rice, brocoli and egg rolls - all from scratch. I'm sure she'll need cheering up after a crap day like today. She had to walk to school this morning, in the snow, in April. Gawd.

Well, I think these are quite stunning, since it is something I never get a chance to see. That third image is just beautiful.

I decided to wait a day to get gas the other day, and it went up by 9 cents a gallon.
